InternShip Camp, the training experience for 50 foreign students in Sicily

An internship of a group of foreign students in some Sicilian companies ended in September 2021, thanks to the project launched by StSicily. It was a summer full of experiences for foreign students who participated in the Internship Camps organized by StSicily and who arrived in Sicily last May.

The students took part in a training and internationalization project on the island, in particular on the western side, aimed at increasing their skills in the world of work, and at internationalizing the companies present in the area (this time operating mainly online) and promote it at the same time.

The project, born in 2016 from the idea of three students Roxanne Heimbourger, Clémence Trocme and Clara Chedeville of the Fragonard French Lyceum, was directed by Eng. Piero Tuzzo, Director of Business Development of STSicily Group.

The experience lasted three months and saw the participation of about 50 students from all over the world. “Sicily is the cradle of the Mediterranean and this is why I chose to develop the business in my region, despite being a citizen of the world, living between Munich and Sicily” – explains the engineer Piero Tuzzo, one of the organizers of the project – “This umpteenth edition has allowed us to close new agreements with new countries, including Greece and Germany”.

There are many objectives of the Internship Camps. In addition to attracting students from abroad who wish to deal with the world of work, offering professional opportunities in local companies, the training courses of StSicily represent an opportunity to promote and relaunch Sicilian excellences both in terms of tourism and production.

A selection of foreign students from Higher Technical Institutes and Business Schools took part in the project, entrusted to expert tutors capable of guiding even the youngest into the world of work.

At the same time, the companies benefited from the inclusion of the participants and enjoyed a European limelight.
